Databases have been the focus of our computing lessons this half term. Children are beginning to create their own databases, research and input information in to them and then completing searches to filter information. The children can complete or even crete their own databases using our LGFL resources: www.lgfl.net/learning-resources/grid, selecting Tool Suite, Just 2 Easy and logging in using their log in information. I can monitor the children's LGFL files so if they want me to see any additional work they have done, they just need to let me know!
As part of our developing computing skills the children are trying hard to develope their keyboard and mouse accuracy. These are skills that are built up over time andneed regualr practice. It eoold be brillaint if you could help at home by working with your child to spend 5 minutes as often as you can on these websites.

This week in computing we will be continuing our learning about e-mail. We will be discussing our school e-safety rules and why we have them, as well as how we can impliment them when we send e-mails and communicate online. Our e-mail skills will build on the children's knoweldge of sending and recieving e-mails and opening and adding attachement by familiarising them with our e-mail address book. The children will be adding several of their classmates to their e-amil address book.
As always the children have been instructed not to use their e-mail accounts outside of school and , even in school, only with adult supervision.
Every day children need to bring: reading book and reading log, maths homework book, spelling book and water bottle.
Homework: Reading every night (an adult will need to sign this each night). Maths homework every day will be to consolidate the children's learning from that day. Spellings: complete one column and 3 quality sentences every night referring to this week's grammar focus.
Any questions, please do not hesitate to come in!!
