St. Patrick

 Welcome to our class page.

Mrs Harding,

Mrs Goodridge and Mrs Williams

Well, time is flying by and we are already in week 4!

Please remember to sign your child’s reading log every day and remind your child to bring in all their homework, every day.

This week in English we will be continuing to write a setting description based on our trip to  Colourscape.  The children will be consolidating their learning about expanded noun phrases (2 adjectives to describe a noun e.g. bright, shiny rainbow) and using them in their planning and writing.  We will continue our writing journey by visualising and mind mapping the scenes from our time in the music tent.  We will be trying to use adjectives for all of our senses to create an inspiring description of our experience at Colouscape.

In maths we will be building on our previous work on column addition and we will be using practical apparatus to move on to exchanging tens and hundreds - 'carrying' in old terms.

Science this week focuses on reflections and the children will completing an investigation to about reflection.

RE will be looking further in to our topic on Home and, after making our rules for our home last week, we will be looking at words we would use to describe our ideal home, thinking about God wanting parents and children to love and respect one another.  We will be looking at the Holy family and considering how they are an example to us.

Every day children need to bring: reading book and reading log, maths homework book, spelling book and water bottle.

Homework: Reading every night (an adult will need to sign this each night). Maths homework every day will be to consolidate the children's learning from that day. Spellings: complete one column and 3 quality sentences every night referring to this week's grammar focus.

Any questions, please do not hesitate to come in!
