Welcome to the second half of Autumn term.
This week in maths we will be consolidating out ability to use column method in addition and subtraction as well as looking at using visual apparatus to help revise adding and subtracting single digit numbers.
In English we will continue to look at adventure stories, by innovating The Tunnel by Anthony Browne. The children will be using oral story telling to create a story map of their changed adventure and then write it, including our grammar focus of the week which is inverted commas to show direct speech - "You should go down there Peter! It's dark, cold and damp," Poppy explained.
In RE we will be continuing our work on Promises and in Histroy we will start investigting the Stone age by placing the era on a timeline.
Every day children need to bring: reading book and reading log, maths homework book, spelling book and water bottle.
Homework: Reading every night (an adult will need to sign this each night). Maths homework every day will be to consolidate the children's learning from that day. Spellings: complete one column and 3 quality sentences every night referring to this week's grammar focus.
Any questions, please do not hesitate to come in!
